I knew from the moment that I first met Hayley Sabella she was a special artist and someone who I would become friends with for a long time to come. There is just something very comforting about her aura and being around her. Then I heard her sing…and the shivers crept up my spine and I was entranced.

Hayley has a control over her voice unlike any other artist I have really come across in my time as a music lover. She has this ability to bowl you over with her vocal acrobatics, though they are subtle most of the time. She just has that “wow” factor where the sounds pouring out of her mouth seem effortless and the words pouring out of her heart are poignant and powerful. Her songs feel comfortable and lived in. Like your favorite plaid blanket hanging on the back of your couch that you turn to on a cold November evening, or your favorite sweater, perhaps worn and broken in at the seams but providing solace and warmth to your soul.

The latest from the songwriter has her in a boat…yup, in a boat. Capturing a solitary moment with a beautiful backdrop as she sings a Southern Shore themed tune titled ‘Cape Cod’. Another reason I respect and admire this writer so much. She writes what she knows, what she sees around her, the geography of her life and the map of her heart. Oh yeah, and her fingerpicking is top notch to boot.
