Show You Should Know: Stains of a Sunflower, Alec Hutson Trio, Hailey Magee, Doully Yang, and Mary Henriquez at Aeronaut Brewery

February 17th (that’s tonight), Allston-local band Stains Of A Sunflower will be joined by friends Alec Hutson Trio and InTheRoundartists Hailey MageeMary Henriquez, and Doully Yang for an awesome night of great music at Aeronaut Brewery in Union Square!

Stains Of A Sunflower is a folk-rock band led by San Franciscan singer-songwriter Natalie Renée, who’s songs focus on a message of positivity, love, and self-acceptance conveyed through personal stories and metaphor. Renée’s powerful voice and lyrics, coupled with the band’s unique rock-based sound, results in a unique and unheard must-hear local experience. The band is currently working on their debut album, FEBRUARY, to be released March 25th, 2016.

Alec Hutson Trio Boston-based musician and songwriter. Folky acoustic soul funk. Hutson’s  music has an infectious groove like no other. The dude has got soul for days. His trio takes that movement to another level.

And in the round with:

Hailey Magee With music that can only be described as “gritty, unfiltered singer-songwriter,” Hailey unapologetically explores themes of morality, the taboo, and the human experience. Her performances leave audiences thinking – and feeling – more deeply than they thought they would. Hailey lives in Somerville and has a life overflowing with music. When she’s not performing, she’s either working full-time as the Director of Community Engagement at Groupmuse or directing EBASS (Emerging Boston Area Singer-Songwriters), a community she founded to bridge the gap between emerging and established artists in the Boston music scene.

Doully Yang Doully’s wide array of influences and experiences are channeled into songs that borrow from blues, rock, jazz, and folk – all without ever losing a current pop sensibility. His writing touches on the things close to his heart: his insecurities, his relationships, and his faith. It walks the fine balance of being wholly relatable while staying remarkably honest to himself.

Mary Henriquez Conservatory-educated as a classical-style singer and nourished on a steady diet of soul, folk, and Sufjan Stevens, Mary seeks to blend solid technique, interesting song form, and accessibility for every kind of listener.
