Just when I didn’t think the harmonies of Lula Wiles could get any deeper, more emotive and gorgeous they go and play a bunch of shows with Anthony DaCosta and have him sit in for songs with them. Taking two of my favorite acts and putting them on stage together, well that just seems like a no brainer, but when that actually happens it can boggle the mind and the outcome is breathtaking.

We have said a lot about the power trio of Lula Wiles, but most recently we described them as “A band that continues to get better with every word they breathe out into their songs…” in our Best Things of 2016 So Far list. Anthony DaCosta’s recent release DaCosta breached our ear canals a bit later in the year but is a shoe in to be included on our latter half of 2016 list. About it, well “There is a brilliant blending of pop sonic qualities with an intense edge and longing in the singer-songwriter’s voice. That voice, man its just so damn good.”

Take all those voices, blend them together and well…wow. Both Lula Wiles and Anthony DaCosta will perform this evening at Club Passim in Harvard Square and I bet, if you are lucky enough, they will play a few together as well.
