And Your 2016 Big Reds Are…

I would love if at some point we get to a point where we can “host” a big old shindig for the celebration of the Big Reds, but sadly there are things like funding and sponsorship and such that logistically weren’t in the cards for your old pal Red for 2016.

I feel as though, the heart of the Big Reds is to tap the resource of the fans and your peers, the pulse of the community to really try and get an idea of who “the people” saw as having a big year, where is their favorite venue to take in music every night of the year, who just killed it as a performer and who put out a record that will continue to be spun into the new year with songs that we cannot get enough of.

This year opened my eyes a bit. New names showed up on the nominee list that I hadn’t previously been intimately aware of and I listened and I was floored. The community spoke to me, told me I should be listening to x, y or z and thats what makes writing about music so special, hearing what folks have to say and hopefully providing a platform that will shine even more light on the amazing artists creating in the New England community. To all of you that nominated and voted, thank you again and again for supporting local arts and the beautiful souls making it.

So, without further adieu, your recognitions for the Big Reds for 2016…
