I must be honest, I find I don’t have all that much to say when it comes to instrumental music most times. Given the company I have been known to keep most of it is pretty fantastic, but more often than not, not necessarily mind boggling. Composer-songwriter Ben Cosgrove, however, falls on the other side of the fence when it comes to his work. The first time I saw Ben perform his “Montreal Song” left my jaw on the floor and I proceeded to listen to it about 37 times over the course of the next 24 hours. It just grabbed me in a way that not a lot of instrumental work is able to do.
A few weeks back Ben was back up in Vermont and we grabbed this quick video of him performing at Radio Bean in Burlington. Also…Ben’s brand new record “Salt” arrives today and you can go and get it right now on Bandcamp. Do it. Do it now.
