Peep This: Ward Hayden & The Outliers “Viva Las Vegas”

For Ward Hayden and the boys that make up ‘The Outliers’ strange trips and long tours across country and state lines are nothing new. But a new name fitting the group seems to be settling in quite nicely.

The band is on the verge of a new release called ‘Can’t Judge a Book’ and while the release was caused a short delay due to some big news, the anticipation isn’t letting go even a bit. With all but one of the seven tracks being penned by other writers, songs that the group has picked up along the road and made their own, its a bit of a drift away from the weight that may come with singing your own words on a record. The freedom of paying homage to some of their favorites certainly peers through the steady rhythms, lonesome ringing guitar notes and Hayden’s velvet vocals.

Hayden recently posted via Facebook, “I’ve always thought the number 13 to be good luck. And in our thirteenth year we’re headed on our twelfth tour of Europe. Which for a guy who was a homebody, and who’s biggest trip as a kid was going to Disneyland, I’ll tell you, my adult life so far has been a most unexpected journey. To quote from “Viva Las Vegas”, “I’m gonna give it everything I’ve got, Lady Luck please let the dice stay hot!”, for this band, that’s the plan.”

Ward Hayden & The Outliers gear up for that European tour and subsequent EP release and put out this live take on one of the tunes off that EP. Check it out.
