Mayfair Returns to Harvard Square May 5th, Passim Sponsored Stage Hosts a Bunch of Our Favs

What in the past has played out as a beautiful celebration of Haaaahvaaahd Square and the arts again returns next weekend and our pals at Club Passim are stepping it up to play host to a who slew of our favorite artists running the gamut from coffee stained folk to good old rock n’roll to bluesy badassery to sequined glam rock. I mean, for those of you who think Passim is just a folk club with acoustic gutiars and singer songwriters, you are sorely mistaken. The sunken listening room has only grown and expanded exponentially its line up over the years and the only consistency in the smörgåsbord of artists you may see grace their stage is: they are fantastically talented.

More from Passim below:

MayFair returns to Harvard Square with a full day of free music. Club Passim has partnered with the Harvard Square Business Association to present some of Boston’s best artists. The Passim Stage will be set up right outside of the main T station in Harvard Square. The music runs from noon to six on May 5th.

This year, the Gritty and raw folk-rock outfit The Wolff Sisters will get things going at noon. Next, the Jazz Rock band The Blue Ribbons takes over at one. At two, singer/songwriter Dietrich Strause takes over. At three, Arc Iris brings their outrageous costumes, synchronized dance moves and electric pop to the main stage followed by Cambridge rock outfit Billy Wylder at four. Finally, Session Americana will close out the day as Merrie Amsterberg and a group of incredibly talented musicians gather around a small bar table and put on a show that has earned them three Boston Music Awards.

MayFair will be Sunday, May 5th. The live music begins at noon at the Passim Stage located outside the Harvard T stop. The show is free and no tickets are required.
