Show You Should Know: Krista Baroni at Reach Arts (Swampscott, MA) March 13th

There are some artists who I will always hold a special place in my musical heart for. Many of them share something in common, and a lot of the time that thing is Dirt Floor. And just before I was heading into work with Eric on a project I was able to see the magic that was unfolding with Krista Baroni and the songs they were recording.

Baroni released her last record “The Alabaster Girl” with much critical acclaim from publications in New England, all the way to the other side of the pond. It was speckled with chords and progressions and strumming patterns that are far beyond my own reach in terms of creativity. In looking back at my initial review of the album, phrases like “graceful simplicity”, “sublime greatness” and “lyrical substance” pop off the screen.

Krista is making a long overdue appearance back in Massachusetts after a long hiatus. She will be in Swampscott, MA at Reach Arts on March 13th. You can, and should, get tickets. Show kicks off at 7PM with support from Aaron Wardwell.

This is the kind of place where a songwriter like Baroni shines brightest. A listening room with an intimate setting. Spaces that are incredibly important for songwriters who craft their art with masterful pens. Krista said about the show that her hopes are for “this space to do well so that other performers can have another listening room to perform in; they seem to be disappearing at an alarming rate.”
