Show (Series) You Should Know: Rhythm Gathering Concert Series (Lyme, CT)

Over time while this publication has expanded beyond the regional reaches it initially started with, we still will always find our home within the borders of and with the artists residing in New England at large. Which is why we are super stoked to see the announcement of a great new concert series being curated by our good friend Krista Baroni.

The shows are a bit earlier and much more conducive to a family friendly event and a way to expose a younger (or older) crowd to some of the best artists that the New England folk and roots music community has to offer…and usually plays after 9 PM in the evening at shows.

From Baroni’s Facebook announcement: “Friends, I am VERY excited to share the news that I have partnered with White Gate Farm to bring a beautiful concert series to East Lyme, CT! The first Saturday of the month from June through September will be a two hour show, and ‘Bring your own Picnic’ event at this picturesque organic farm. Our first event is June 1st, and we welcome Jenee Halstead and John Faraone to the shoreline. We are so grateful to have them share their music with us! The goal of this concert series is to create an environment focused on connection. We will encourage you to turn off your phone, share a meal with family and friends, and listen to some of the best songwriters New England has to offer.

We also want more of our neighbors to come and explore what an organic farm looks like, and what benefits it brings to our community. Come early and explore the farm (bring the kids and introduce them to the animals!) and shop in the plentiful organic Farm Stand, which will be open that day until 5 pm. They have lots of prepared goodies to add to your picnic basket!

We want this event to feel accessible to EVERYONE. It is a free show with a small suggested cash donation. We do not have sponsors for this event, so small monetary contributions will help keep our series running. Please spread the word, and join us for our own mini Tanglewood in our very own backyard!

oh, p.s – I’m the MC/Host for this series, in case I didn’t make that clear.”

The first one of these events sees two heavy hitters in the New England songwriting community and I imagine this is just a taste of what is to come as Krista works to flesh out the line up for the Summer and early Autumn. Keep an eye on this one if you are in the area and if you are not in the area…well its one worth traveling for. So pack a picnic and a few extra dollars and get out for these events. We will report back as the series line up takes shape and be eagerly anticipating to see how this first fantastic concert goes…
