Fresh Track: Lay Low Moon “Without You” Music Features by Brian Carroll - July 16, 20180 On August 17th Lay Low Moon will celebrate the release of their new record “On This Day Last Year”, just over a week later, on August 26th, they celebrate with a release show at Club Passim. Today we have a fresh track look at “Without You” off of that album. Self described as “an Indie-Folk-Pop collective built around the songs of Seán McKenna“, the ‘band’ is a collective of folks depending on the day lending their craft to McKenna’s introspective and sweetly rich songs. There is a humility and somber feel to his voice on ‘Without You’. The song enters bare bones and “all out there” as he sings “I don’t mean a goddamn thing, without you” the vulnerability of his voice and emotion seeps out of the speakers and cleanses the listener with his honesty and susceptibility. A great introduction to what I am venturing will be a beautiful collection of songs. Give a listen, get the new record next month and get out to the release show on the 26th. photo by Michael D.
