Ear Trumpet Labs Announces New Mic & Price Increases Music Features by Brian Carroll - October 3, 2018October 3, 20180 Ok, I will be honest, that title may be a bit misleading because overall the price increase in the mics effected is so minimal and still doesn’t represent what the actual cost of the incredibly crafted microphones should cost, but Ear Trumpet Labs did announce yesterday that there would be about a 40-50 buck price increase on some models. The increase comes as a result of supply costs and paying the company’s craftspeople a fair living wage. Seeing how much ETL cares about their folks in the shop and their artists, I am more than happy to pay that extra price tag. That list is below (new prices in bold): Changing Prices Edwina $550 $599 Edwina Stereo Pair $1050 $1150 Chantelle $550 $599 Edna $550 $599 Louise $599 $640 Myrtle $599 $640 Josephine $599 $640 Same Price Nadine $599 Evelyn $1200 Mabel $1200 New Model Delphina $599 This updated price list will be reflected on November 1st, so you still have the whole month of October to dig in and pick up an extra Edwina or an ensemble mic in Louise, Myrtle or Josephine. Our Old Spruce Sessions have been powered by Ear Trumpet Labs microphones for all of 2018 and we truly cannot stress enough how much we love these mics. In addition to this small increase is cost there will also be a new mic in the mix. Ear Trumpet announced that they are also adding a new model called Delphina that has been a popular customization request for several years— it’s a Myrtle in the body of an Edwina, perfect for players who want a gather-round single mic in a smaller form factor. Smaller footprint, same BIG sound! So pick one up today folks while you can, or wait until the price goes up just a tad and make sure that your hard earned money goes to people also working hard for theirs. From the company: We wanted to give a heads-up that we are going to be rolling out a new price list in November. It has always been one of our top priorities to keep our mics affordable for working artists and musicians, so we have done our best to keep our prices as low as we feasibly can, given increasing supply costs and wages for our craftspeople (who are themselves working artists and musicians). We are proud to provide living-wage jobs with health and retirement benefits to our craftspeople, and that does come with a cost, making this adjustment necessary.
